At least four books in the collection have the initials H. O. inscribed, in the same hand. Three of these books were also owned by the Jesuits in Bury St Edmunds. One was given to the Jesuits at Bury St Edmunds by 'Dr Short'. A fifth book has recently been identified with similar Bury St Edmunds and 'Dr Short' inscriptions, and additionally it has the name 'Hugh Owen' inscribed.
